Microsoft Expands Copilot+ AI Features to Intel and AMD PCs

Microsoft’s just flipped the script by rolling out its Copilot+ AI features to Intel and AMD-powered computers. Yeah, you heard that right—no more being left out in the cold if you’re not team Qualcomm. Remember when these fancy AI tools were Snapdragon X series exclusives? Those days are officially over.

Launched about a year ago, the Copilot+ initiative was all about spotlighting PCs that could really handle AI like a pro. At first, Qualcomm was the only game in town. But then, late 2024 rolled around, bringing with it the AMD Ryzen AI 300 series and Intel Core Ultra 200V series. Game changers, right? Still, Intel and AMD folks were missing out on some of the coolest features—until now.

Starting today, it’s a free-for-all (well, sort of). Live Captions, Cocreator, Restyle Image, and Image Creator are up for grabs on any Copilot+ certified hardware, no matter what’s under the hood. Live Captions? It’s like having your own personal translator, offering real-time captions for videos, audio, and meetings in English, plus translations from over 40 languages into English and 27 into Chinese. Talk about breaking down barriers.

And here’s the kicker: Voice Access, which lets you boss your PC around with just your voice, is making its way to Qualcomm-based Copilot+ devices first. But don’t worry, Intel and AMD users, your turn’s coming soon.

For the creatives out there, Cocreator in Paint is now playing nice with all processor types. Mix text edits with your doodles? Go for it. And the Photos app’s Restyle Image and Image Creator tools are now open to Intel and AMD users, turning your pics into art or generating images from text prompts. Because why not?

All these goodies are part of the March 2025 Windows update. But here’s the head-scratcher: why the wait for Intel and AMD machines if they met the AI performance bar? And, oh, Microsoft’s slick new Windows Search upgrade, making finding files, photos, and settings a breeze, is still Snapdragon-only. For now, at least.
