CES 2025 Preview: Anticipated Tech Innovations and Industry Trends

The holiday season is just beginning, but anticipation for CES 2025 is already building. The Engadget team is preparing to head to Las Vegas for tech’s largest annual conference. Our calendars are filling up with briefings and demos, and our inboxes are overflowing with pitches from companies planning to showcase their latest innovations.

Based on recent industry trends and our experience, we can make educated predictions about what to expect. CES has traditionally covered a broad range of tech, from TVs and cars to smart home products and personal health devices. At CES 2025, we anticipate AI becoming even more pervasive across all categories.

NVIDIA is expected to unveil its RTX 5000 series, while AMD is set to introduce its next-generation RDNA 4 GPUs. These advancements could significantly boost gaming performance and ray-tracing capabilities.

AI PCs are also likely to dominate the show, with manufacturers leveraging the end of Windows 10 support to push new AI-integrated devices. However, the industry will need to prove its AI capabilities can live up to the hype.

In the audio sector, we hope to see more companies integrating hearing health tools, inspired by Apple’s recent AirPods Pro 2 update. Sennheiser, known for its CES launches, could potentially bring hearing-focused features to its flagship Momentum line.

The transition to electric vehicles continues to gain momentum, but CES 2025 might also see the real-world arrival of air taxis, with companies like Archer Aviation and Joby Aviation planning to launch eVTOL services.

Soundbar innovation, though seemingly incremental, could see advancements in dialog enhancement features, with companies like LG and Samsung expected to improve their AI-driven audio solutions.

With keynotes from industry leaders like NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang and Delta’s Ed Bastian, CES 2025 promises to be a momentous event for tech enthusiasts and industry professionals alike.
