Nvidia Unveils Affordable Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit for AI and Robotics

Nvidia introduces the Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit, a $249 AI computer offering enhanced processing power for AI and robotics projects.

Nvidia has announced the latest addition to its Jetson Orin Nano AI computer series, the Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit. Priced at $249, this compact computer is designed for powerful AI processing, offering more AI punch than its predecessor at half the cost. It is now available for purchase.

The Jetson Nano line has been a budget-friendly option for hobbyists and makers since its launch in 2019. The Nano Super boasts a 70% increase in neural processing, delivering 67 TOPS compared to the 40 TOPS of the original Nano. Additionally, it features 50% more memory bandwidth at 102GB/s, promising to accelerate operations.

Utilizing the same hardware as the original Orin Nano kit, the Nano Super Developer Kit benefits from a new JetPack update, which enhances performance through a new power mode that boosts GPU, memory, and CPU clocks. Nvidia’s Jensen Huang demonstrated the capabilities of the Nano Super in a recent video.

The developer kit includes a reference carrier board and a Jetson Orin Nano 8GB system-on-module, featuring an Nvidia Ampere GPU with tensor cores and a 6-core Arm CPU. Nvidia describes the Nano Super Developer Kit as an ‘ideal solution’ for creating chatbots, visual AI agents, and AI-based robots.
