Yelp Introduces AI-Driven Ratings on Business Pages
Yelp launches Review Insights, a new AI feature that rates various aspects of nightlife and food businesses based on customer reviews.

The popular crowd-sourced review platform, Yelp, has introduced a groundbreaking feature called Review Insights, which leverages AI and customer reviews to evaluate common aspects of nightlife and food-related businesses. This new feature is currently available on the iOS version of the Yelp app, as announced on the company’s official blog.
Review Insights aggregates customer reviews and processes them through a large language model (LLM), which then assigns ratings out of 100 to specific aspects such as ambiance or service time. This AI capability allows Yelp to infer customer sentiment about various business aspects even when reviews do not explicitly mention them.
In the coming weeks, Yelp plans to roll out an AI-powered homepage, continuing its trend of integrating AI features. Over the past year, Yelp has already introduced several AI-driven updates, including an auto-generated summary feature in January and an AI-powered Yelp Assistant in April.
