AI Enhancements Arrive for Microsoft Notepad

Microsoft Notepad is introducing a new AI feature called Rewrite, available to Windows Insiders. This tool lets AI modify text and alter tone or length. Users can easily toggle this feature via Notepad settings.

Microsoft’s Notepad is unveiling a new AI feature named Rewrite. As reported by The Verge, this tool is currently being tested by Windows Insiders, allowing AI to adjust sentence structure, tone, and text length. To use Rewrite, highlight text in Notepad and access the options through a right-click menu or by pressing Ctrl+I. A dialogue box will appear with AI-generated text suggestions, including customizable options for ‘Longer’, ‘Tone’, and ‘Format’. Users who prefer a manual approach can disable the AI functionality in the settings.

Additionally, Microsoft’s Paint app is receiving AI tools called Generative Fill and Erase. These features enable users to edit and enhance images by specifying desired changes in a text box or erasing parts of an image with a dedicated tool. These advancements highlight the swift transition from basic features to AI-driven capabilities in Microsoft’s applications.
