Amazon’s Kindle iOS App Introduces ‘Get Book’ Button for Easier Purchases
Amazon has updated its Kindle iOS app with a ‘Get Book’ button, simplifying the process of purchasing books directly from the app, a change influenced by recent court rulings against Apple’s App Store fees.

Amazon just rolled out a game-changer for Kindle users on iOS—say hello to the ‘Get Book’ button. No more jumping through hoops to buy your next read. With a single tap, you’re whisked away to Amazon’s page (thanks, 1-Click), and before you know it, you’re back in the app, book in hand. Gone are the days of playing hide-and-seek with titles on Amazon’s website.
Why the sudden shift? Blame it on the courts. A recent ruling told Apple to back off from skimming fees off digital purchases made outside the App Store. This means Amazon (and others) can now cut out the middleman, making life easier for us and harder for Apple’s bottom line. Sure, you’ll still deal with Amazon’s web version for the actual purchase, but hey, it’s progress.
And Amazon’s not alone in this dance. Spotify’s letting iOS users subscribe without the App Store tax, and Epic Games is plotting its comeback, bringing Fortnite back to iOS with a side of web shops for good measure.
Apple’s not exactly throwing a party over these changes—they’re appealing the decision, after all. But with the judge calling their App Store tactics ‘anticompetitive,’ it looks like an uphill battle. Tough break, Apple.
